Moving Forward: a Conversation with Dr. Luvelle Brown and Mayor Svante Myrick

Community members, students, and faculty gathered in Emerson Suites at Ithaca College On Tuesday, September 5th for an event called Moving Forward: a conversation with Dr. Luvelle Brown and Mayor Svante Myrick. The hour long event focused on the effects of last month’s tragedy in Charlottesville, Virginia, and how hate can be prevented in the Ithaca schools and the local community.

The conversation was moderated by Director of Programs and Outreach for Ithaca College Dr. Sean Eversley Bradwell.

The following are excerpts from the September 5th conversation between Ithaca City School District Superintendent Dr. Luvelle Brown and Ithaca Mayor Svante Myrick.
