Do you want to tell stories that matter, learn how to make radio, and hang out with some of the greatest people you could ever hope to meet?
The event is Tuesday, 2/27, 7:00 pm in the Borg Warner Room at Tompkins County Public Library.
Community Radio is HIP and for everybody, including YOU. So please please please help us make more of it! All backgrounds, experience levels, and interests are warmly invited.
WRFI Community Radio News is run almost entirely on the hard work and smooth voices of volunteers. And we'd love to have new friends help us out.!
As a volunteer, you can ...
- Research and write
- Interview and host on-air
- Produce original features (podcast nerds, this is your moment)
- Operate the board (It's like DJing, but for news junkies)
Anyone who ever wanted to try their hand at reporting or making radio happen, February 27th is the night! Our current team of volunteers will be there to tell you all about how cool this is. And obviously there will be snacks at this event.
No experience necessary (We love to teach and learn, here) and all backgrounds, identities, ages, and interests are welcome!
Looking forward to seeing you there! Until then, catch us on 88.1 in Ithaca, 91.9 Watkins Glen, every weekday at 6pm.
