WRFI Board Meeting — November 10, 2020, 6-8pm

Agenda:

Finalize vote on underwriting questions.

Major donor and year end requests.

Move antiracism training ahead.

 

Finalize vote on underwriting questions

• Support selling underwriting for the news and can air on WRFI.
• Stephen: In favor of show raising money for their show, but not in favor of having this influence air time for the show.
• Felix: Work with Ithaca Voice who is securing the funding, with some split favoring the Voice.
• Stephen’s motion (seconded by Joe):
  • (1) Adjust the underwriting policy to allow the Board to vote on underwriting for WRFI news series special projects.
  • (2) Allow WRFI to secure underwriting specifically to support the proposed police reform series.
• All Board members present voted in favor. Motion passes.

Major donor and year-end requests:

• Felix will provide lists of those we can contact for more personalized requests.

Move antiracism training ahead.

• Target of February to start: Focus on Management and Board Training (instead of volunteers)
• For December meeting: Pamela will take on contacting Fabina and Jum and copy Godfrey:
  • How much time is needed?
  • Costs?
  • What about including volunteers, too?
  • Engagement if it’s virtual?
  • 5K costs
