Coronavirus Update, February 18, 2021

The Tompkins County Health Department announces that a planned 800 doses of COVID-19 vaccine will not be arriving this week due to expected bad weather.  However, a pop-up clinic at Beverly J. Martin elementary offering 200 doses for grocery workers and P-12 school workers will still take place Friday, February 19 .

An additional 100 doses that were going to be offered to persons 65 and older and individuals with comorbidities will not be available at the pop-up clinic, reports the Ithaca Voice.

Frank Kruppa, Public Health Director, expressed disappointment that the expected 800 doses for this week would not be arriving.  Those who registered for this week’s clinic will be contacted by the Health Department for rescheduling.

Tompkins County is reporting 5 new COVID Cases, and a total of 129 active cases. COVID counts in Tompkins County have been trending downward since the start of the week. 

Schuyler County is reporting 1 new case of COVID, and a total of 11 cases.
