Coronavirus Update, April 13th, 2021

New York State will allow commencement events in 2021, including those hosting more than 500 guests.

According to the Albany Times-Union, state public health directives will provide strict guidelines for schools that are planning their celebrations.  Indoor and outdoor events will have capacity limits that will vary depending on the location and size of the event.

Guests must wear face masks and sit 6 feet apart, regardless of their vaccination status.  These guidelines must be met regardless of the size and location of the venues. 

Tompkins County is reporting 5 new cases of the coronavirus, and a total of 80 active cases.

In Schuyler county, there are 2 new cases of COVID, adding to a total of 21 active cases.
