TOMPKINS COUNTY, NY -- The Tompkins County Mental Health Department is welcoming Harmony Ayers-Friedlander as their new Deputy Commissioner of Mental Health Services.

Ayers-Friedlander has served in this position as well as Director of Community Services since March, but is only now officially being introduced to the public.

Prior to her current position, she served as the executive director of Family Service Society Inc., which provided professional counseling and community services throughout Steuben County.

She also was on the Tompkins County Community Mental Health Services Board from 2006 until February of this year.

Frank Kruppa, the Commissioner of Mental Health, is happy to have Ayers-Frielander on board.

“We are excited to have Harmony join us at Mental Health,” Kruppa said, and noted that Ayers-Friedlander has already led the process for developing the Mental Health Department’s Priority Plan for mental health services in Tompkins County.”
