The Tompkins County Health Department will be hosting a COVID vaccine booster clinic this Saturday. The county will offer the Moderna booster from 10:00 A.M. to 6:00 P.M. at the Ithaca Mall vaccine site. To get the booster on Saturday, patients must be 18  or older.  Patients must also have received their second dose of either the Pfizer or Moderna Vaccine at least 6 months ago or the Johnson & Johnson vaccine at least two months ago. The Ithaca Farmers Market will move to it’s winter location beginning this saturday. According to 14850.com, the market will be open on Saturdays from 10:30 to 2:00 at the Triphammer Marketplace. This will be the farmers market’s third winter in the Triphammer Marketplace. Masks will still be required in the atrium, per New York State guidelines.

On Tuesday, the Albany District Attorney’s office dropped misdemeanor charges against former Governor Andrew Cuomo. According to CNBC, Cuomo was accused of forcibly groping the breast of a female aide in the Governor’s mansion. This comes after other charges against Cuomo were dropped by the Westchester and Nassau county DAs. Albany DA David Soares said that while the complainant was credible and cooperative, the office could not meet the burden of proof necessary at trial.

On Monday, Governor Kathy Hochul announced she was proposing term limits to New York’s statewide offices. According to NBC4 News, Hochul’s proposal would limit the Governor, Lieutenant Governor, Attorney General, and Comptroller to two, four-year terms. Hochul plans to introduce the measure as an amendment to the state constitution. The measure would have to be approved by both the state legislature and New York voters in a statewide referendum. Governor Hochul also plans to introduce legislation that would bar statewide elected officials from earning money outside their government salary. Hochul said these measures were meant to restore trust and integrity in the state government.
