Lee Zeldin, the Republican candidate for governor of New York, will not be allowed to additionally appear on the ballot as an Independence Party candidate. According to Axios, News York gubernatorial candidates can appear on the ballot for multiple parties if they meet the qualifications. To be on the ballot for a different party, the requirement is 45,000 handwritten signatures of voters. Of the 52,000 signatures Zeldin submitted to run as an Independence Party candidate, 13,000 were deemed invalid since they were photocopied.
