Eclectic Currents is the brainchild of Jonathan Hochberg, who has been in and around music and technology for all of his better-than-half century of existence. This latest project showcases all genres of music produced primarily by local independent labels or by the bands themselves, occasionally dipping in to major labels to provide a rich tapestry of sound.
We live now during a renaissance of creativity, inspired partly by the rapidly decreasing cost of production and distribution that allows for individuals or small groups to create and disseminate the fruits of their imagination with little effort to a global audience. Nothing like it in human history has come before, and it has the potential to change the culture of our entire civilization. (Whew!) This is another facet in my contribution to that evolution.
