IPD Investigating a Mugging Near Commons

ITHACA, NY -- The Ithaca Police are investigating a mugging that occurred at about 1:15am on West State Street on Sunday.

Police say a man was walking home towards the Commons when 3 black males approached him, demanding his property. Police report that the man tried to reason with the suspects before being struck with what he believed was a metal pipe. The man’s wallet and phone were stolen. 

The incident occurred around  the West State Street blocks between Plain and Geneva Streets.
