- Ithaca and Danby primaries will be decided in manual recounts -

Four Tompkins County Democratic primary elections are headed for manual recounts. This is because the difference in each race was less than 20 votes after absentee and affidavit ballots were counted. The Ithaca Voice reports that both Ward 5 races and the Ward 3 race will require recounts. The fourth manual count will be for the Danby town clerk position. All of the races had margins of less than 10 votes.

The manual counts will take place the week of July 10.

- Tompkins County Invites Public To Test Voting Machines -

Tompkins County residents can test three new voting machine options beginning on Tuesday. People will get to submit sample ballots and Board of Election staff will be on hand to answer questions. On July 11 Clear Ballot machines will be tested. On July 14 Hart Intercivic machines will be available and on July 26 people can try out Dominion Voting Systems machines. All testing will take place 2-4 PM in the Tompkins County legislature chamber. People should use the Dewitt Park entrance. The machines that are selected will start being used in the 2024 elections.
