- Seneca Meadows Landfill Community Agreement Could Be Worth $10 Million -

The company that operates Seneca Meadows Landfill has proposed a new host community agreement or HCA. The agreement would be worth over $10 million for the Town of Seneca Falls if an expansion is approved by the state Department of Environmental Conservation.  FingerLakes1.com reports the company says the town would get over $173 million during the 15-year life of the proposed expansion.

- Elmira Firm Gets Almost $1 Million Federal Grant For Apprenticeship Program -

A machining company in Elmira has received $978,000 from the U.S. Department of Energy. Hardinge, Inc. makes equipment used to machine metals. The grant is from the energy department’s National Nuclear Security Administration. Hardinge will train apprentices in technical skills needed in national labs like Lawrence Livermore and Los Almos.
