Voices from the Cornell Pro-Palestinian Liberated Zone

By Felix Teitelbaum | May 20, 2024
Colorful tents lit under a night sky on Cornell's Arts Quad. Shadows of trees can be seen against the sky.

Each day this week (May 20-24, 2024) we'll add a comment from a Cornell activist from the Coalition of Mutual Liberation's "Liberated Zone" Palestinian solidarity encampment. The comments were recorded on Monday, May 13, 2024, the day the group voluntarily dismantled their tents and ended the occupation.

A large hand-painted sign in dusk light. Images include black hands on bars, minarets topped with crescent moons, planes dropping bombs, a man holding a bloodied child, and a slice of watermellon. The sign reads, "Over 35,000 killed, over 14,000 of whom are children," "The sun will shine on a free Palestine," and "Land Back."
