ITHACA, NY -- The Finger Lakes Land Trust has acquired a 200 acre property along Cayuga Lake.

The parcel features 4,000 feet of shoreline along a forested cliff in Lansing The shoreline is designated as an Important Bird Area by the National Audubon Society. Multiple creeks, streams, gorges, and waterfalls run through the conservation

The Land Trust plans to make the preserve available for public recreational use, including hiking, and cross country skiing. They say it will be open to the public sometime in 2023.

The Land Trust received $327,475 in funding for the conservation from the New York State Office of Parks and Recreation, and $100,00 from the Tompkins County Natural Infrastructure Capital Program, as well as many individual contributions.
