Coronavirus Update, March 23, 2021

The Tompkins County Health Department is reporting that three concerning variants of COVID-19 have appeared in Tompkins County.

They are the variants commonly referred to as the U.K., New York City, and Southern California variant.

The Health department is also reporting recent rise in COVID cases. On March 2nd, total active cases were at 76. As of Monday, they are at 150. The Health Department says this is mostly due to social gatherings, and travel.

COVID-19 testing is available for free for Tompkins County residents. In addition, the Health Department is urging everyone who’s eligible to sign up on the county’s vaccine registry.

 

Tompkins County is reporting 5 new positive cases of COVID-19, and a total of 145 Active cases.

Schuyler County is reporting no new cases of the virus, and 16 active cases.
