TOMPKINS COUNTY, NY -- Sandy Irwin, a candidate for the Tompkins County Public Library Director position, is set to give an upcoming public presentation.

Irwin will be making her case for the position on Tuesday, July 13th at 5:30. The presentation will be available as a live Zoom webinar. The presentation will be 20 to 25 minutes. There will be a moderated Q and A following the presentation.

Irwin is currently the director of Durango Public Library in Durango, Colorado. She’s seeking to replace the library’s former Director, Annette Birsdall, who announced towards the end of last year she would retire in May. Susan Currie is currently serving as interim director.

The search for a replacement started in January. The library wanted to fill the position no later than June 1st.

There have been applicants from dozens of library leaders throughout the country. Previously, Adam Traub and Matthew Bollerman were final candidates and held presentations in May.

The Library is encouraging the public to attend and ask questions.
