Ithaca Seeks a Sustainability Specialist to Work on Green New Deal

ITHACA, NY -- The City of Ithaca is seeking to hire a Sustainability Specialist to help implement the City’s Green New Deal.

The ambitious plan, adopted in June of 2019, aims to make the city carbon neutral by 2030, and do so equitably across race and class.

The Sustainability Specialist is advertised as a temporary, 5 month position,  assisting the City’s Director of Sustainability and the Sustainability Coordinator. 

The job description includes a wide range of typical work activities, from working to develop a climate action plan; to performing outreach and education for City Staff and the wider community; as well as research and development funding for the City’s Green New Deal initiatives.
