Wegmans announced Monday that it would be recalling Vidalia onions sold at certain locations due to potential listeria. The Ithaca Wegmans is one of three locations in New York affected by the recall. According to My Twin Tiers, the potentially impacted products were sold between June 23rd and June 24th with the 4-digit PLU codes 4159 or 4166. Customers can return the products to the service desk for a full refund.

Polls are open today from 6am to 9pm for Democrats and Republicans in Tompkins County. According to 14850.com, the statewide races on the ballot include both the Democratic and Republican primaries for Governor, and the Democratic primary for Lt. Governor. In Ithaca, the fourth ward common council seat is also up for grabs. There are also races in the villages of Lansing, Trumensburg, Groton, Dryden, and Cayuga Heights. An Ithaca man plead guilty in federal court yesterday to two charges of sexual exploitation of a child. Remanu Phillips faces up to 60 years in prison stemming from the case. He previously plead guilty in Tompkins County court to felony sexual abuse and was sentenced to 6 months jail time and 10 years probation.

City of Ithaca and Tompkins County property tax bills are due this week. City second installment bills are due Thursday June 30 and second installment county bills are due Friday July 1. The City Chamberlain’s office has a new online portal for viewing and paying tax bills, water and sewer bills, parking tickets and more at cityofithaca.org.
