Tompkins County Legislature Seeks Commissioners for Independent Redistricting Process

TOMPKINS COUNTY, NY  -- The Tompkins County Legislature is seeking commissioners for its independent redistricting process.

These are volunteer positions. Commissioners will redraw the 14 Tompkins County legislature districts in accordance with 2020’s census data. The districts will determine the geography and constituents that will be represented by the County’s Legislators.

Commissioners should be people without conflicts of interest, such those holding an elected office or acting as political organizers. Applications are being accepted until September 15th and are available on the Tompkins County website.

The County will hold a virtual information session and Q&A on August 19th at 12:00pm. Pre-register for the event here.
