Coronavirus Update, May 05, 2021

Cornell President Martha Pollack announced Friday that Cornell students who are planning to graduate this spring will be permitted to bring two guests to their graduation ceremony.

Originally, students were told that they were not allowed to invite guests. The Ithaca Times reports that  Cornell administration changed the policy following updated New York State public health guidance allowing graduation ceremonies to take place in venues filled up to 33% capacity.

Pollack indicated that graduation-ticketing procedures have not been fully worked out, but mandated public health protocols and ticket policies are forthcoming.

State lawmakers voted Monday to extend New York’s eviction protection laws until August 31st, 2021.
